Isaac vs Santa

Today we went to our ward Christmas party where they had a special guest appearance by none other then Santa Clause. All the kids lined up to sit on his lap and Isaac and I were in line to do the same. Isaac watched with anticipation as we got closer to the front of the line. He watched the other kids go and sit on Santa's lap and then get a treat. He seemed to be excited and ready to go see Santa. When it was our turn I helped him across the stage and the rest you will have to see for yourself.... play the video below for the exciting conclusion to Isaac vs Santa.

I don't bathe I just go to the fountain

For some good family fun here at the OC we took Isaac to Fashion Island and let him run wild in the fountain. This is a great fountain for little kids, cause it shoots the water up but never is too much to scare the wee ones. Isaac loves this spot, and on this particular night we had it mostly to ourselves. He would climb up on the fountain, and then run and jump down and tell us what he saw or did (in his own language I might add) and then climb up and do it all over again. He starts out rather timid, avoiding the water and then becomes more and more brave even to the point of sitting and looking down a hole waiting for the water to shoot up. Which of course ends up squirting him in the face and him laughing and running over for me to wipe him off before he heads back out for some more. The other funny thing was that people would stop and watch him playing and comment on how cute he was. But when he would notice that they were watching he would run over to us and yell "NO MINE" at them and wait for them to continue on and then he would return to playing. This was mostly the case until a particular lady really liked him and wanted Isaac to play with her, and eventually he warmed up and was giving her and some other people High-fives, while saying "All Right!"
What a cute kid we have!!

Also one of his favorite things in life is to find airplanes in the sky. He can hear them and find them before I can usually. So while we were at the fountain he spotted and airplane and just had to sit and watch it. We like this video because we got him to say "I don't know" and "airplane".

At the zoo and there's a monkey on my back...what?

We love the zoo. We recently went to the L.A. zoo and had a great time. We saw all sorts of animals including the animal in Isaac. We have a monkey backpack that he wears with a leash attached so we can keep track of him while he is walking and he hated it at first. But after a while he got used to the monkey

on his back, (pun intended) and loved looking at the animals. It was a wonderful day, hot but not too hot, and fun to experience Isaac's excitement at seeing real live animals, he especially like looking at the monkeys. We loved hearing him try to say their names and listening to him growl like a lion. Watching him learn and grow is the funnest thing in our lives. We can't imagine what we ever did without him to entertain us.

OUR FAMILY

We are starting this blog to log all the cool stuff that happens with our family. Blogs are all the rage, and we like to be in on the outrageous. This blog won't be nearly as cool as Bob Lablaw's law blog, but it will probably be in 2nd place (we are the Barker 2's after all).

Here is the scoop: currently in our family we have Tim, Anniece, Isaac and our awesome cat Dennis Roger LeCat Barker. We are living in Costa Mesa California and we love every minute of it. During the winter we stick to the park for our outdoor recreation, but during the summer we can be found at the beach. We like to walk down the boardwalk in Newport on Sundays, and ride the waves on Saturdays. Life couldn't get any better.
